Summer mountain climbs

Summer ascents, where you can find the lost paradise (more in the gallery).

Kroficka_attack
Mount Krofička (2083 m) is a summit in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. Together with its pre-peak Ute (2029 m) and Strelovc it forms a mountainous barrier between the Logarska Valley and Robanov kot. Its southern ridge steeply descents to Škrbina, through which it is connected to Ojstrica. Its eastern slope is steep and grassy in the upper part, its western part is covered with forest. The peak is not spacious, but it offers great views.

The whole tour goes like this: Logarska Valley - Klemenča Jama (1208 m) – Ojstrica (2350 m) – Škarje – Lučka Baba (2244 m) – Planjava (2392 m) – Kamniško Sedlo (1864 m) – Okrešelj (1396 m) – Waterfall Rinka (1000 m) - Logarska Valley.
triglav_1

Mount Triglav is a 2864 m high mountain, which lies in the heart of the Julian Alps. It is also the highest mountain of Slovenia as well as of the Julian Alps. On the top of Mount Triglav there is the so called Aljaž tower, which was built by Jakob Aljaž, a priest from Dovje. The tower is also a shelter in stormy weather for up to five people. Nowadays it is considered as one of the most important cultural heritage of Slovenia.

The first climbers to set foot on Mount Triglav on 26 August, 1778, were the so called »four hearts' men« (Luka Korošec, Matevž Kos, Štefan Rožič and Lovrenc Willomitzer), which have their monument in Bohinj.
Reaching the Mount Triglav summit opens beautiful views that can go all the way to the Adriatic Sea, the Alps and practically over the whole Slovenia.

Lucka-baba_attack Mount Lučka Baba (2244 m) – Logarska Valley was due to its natural beauties in 1987 proclaimed as a regional park. Its present appearance was shaped by a glacier in the last Ice age. The valley is 7 km long and 250 m (up to 500 m) wide. It is divided in three parts by name: the lower part (Log), the middle part (Plest) and the upper part (Kot). It is surrounded by numerous mountains, reaching more than 2000 m: Krofičla (2083), Ojstrica (2350), Škarje (2141), Lučka Baba (2244), Planjava (2394), Turska gora (2251), Rinke, Mrzla gora (2203), etc. Logarska Valley is thus the perfect starting point for mountain ascents. Other hikers and also families can relax in trips to numerous waterfalls in the valley. There are twenty of them. Of course most of them are inconstant and can be seen only in spring or autumn months. Logarska Valley serves also as a home to some people. In a form of tourist farms you can experience the life in the valley yourselves.
Klemenca_pec_attack  Klemenča peč. The wall, which lies about one kilometre from the beginning of the Logarska Valley against Pavličevo saddle (right) is throughout the year suitable for rock climbing. It may however be too hot in the summer, and there is a chance you can encounter snakes. On some parts it can be very crumbly and grassy. Several directions are already equipped.
Zeleniske_spice_attack
Zeleniške špice. The ridge of Zeleniške špice divides the valley of Kamniška Bela and Repov kot (in the Kamnik- Savinja Alps). According to the map it is two kilometres long, but in reality it goes up and down so often that it feels like its never-ending. The long mountain barrier starts over the house in Kamniški Bistrica, the first visible peak over wooden slopes is a distinctive rocky head Kamniški Dedec (1583 m).
The next peak is Staničev vrh (1805 m, named after a climber Valentin Stanič). Here the rocky ridge full of towers and little peaks starts. Up to the last peak Najvišji rob (2127 m) there is only one more, which is Največji špic (1937 m). The crossing stops at Srebrno sedlo (2115 m), where the mountain backbone joins Planjava. The surrounding “emptiness” offers great view to both sides. The crossing of Zeleniške špice is one of the most beautiful ridge crossings not only in Grintovec mountains, but in the whole of Slovenian mountains.

montaz_attack Mount Montaž is a 2754 high summit in the western Julian Alps. Its real Slovenian name is Špik nad Policami, or also Poliški Špik.
